Glossary term
SR-22
SR-22: A certificate of financial responsibility that an insurer files with a state to prove a driver carries at least the minimum required liability coverage. Required after a DUI in most states, usually for three years.
The SR-22 is not insurance and cannot be bought alone; it is attached to a liability policy. See the SR-22 guide.
